ANTI WRINKLE INJECTION THERAPY
Wrinkles are caused by a combination of contraction of the skin by the underlying muscles of the skin and by the loss of that “baby fat” that gives fullness to our skin. We inject the naturally occurring botulinum directly into the muscles that cause the skin to wrinkle. Don’t worry the needles used for the injections are so fine that for most patients it is merely a discomfort akin to a mosquito bite. If you wish, we can apply a skin sensation numbing cream so that the sharpness of the injection is not felt. Please inform us at the time of booking if you wish to have the cream applied to your skin prior to the procedure as it takes approximately 30 minutes for the cream to numb the skin. Sometimes further injections are needed 2 weeks later to achieve the desired effect. The doctor will advise you at the time of your consultation.
